PROFInet controller

The new Wago PROFInet Controller is in accordance with the PROFInet Specification 2.01. It is a programmable PROFInet control component and provides network variables and I/O signals. The SRT protocol is used for transmitting the process data.

Component-based automation is a software architecture, with which distributed and modular applications can be created very easily. Machines and systems are divided up into modular components that can be programmed or started up individually. The components consist of mechanics, electrics, control (PLC) and the control program, and together form mechatronic units. A consequent modularisation leads to distributed intelligence.

Bringing together the components to form a machine or a system, as well as a communication design or program, is made as easy as possible for the user. PROFInet, as a modern Ethernet-based communication medium, is the prerequisite for plug-and-play capable automation technology. The communication design of the components is done using manufacturer-independent editors.
