Endress+Hauser is offering a new product line, the Applipac, which aims to satisfy an increasing customer demand for complete, comprehensive measurement process solutions. Ready programmed and adapted to various process engineering applications, Applipac is intended to provide the customer with the most suitable combination of field instrumentation, I/O modules, operating software, commissioning, engineering and service in each package.
The first generation of application packages comprises:
* Level kit for continuous level measurement in all vessels with alarm monitoring and an optional level limit switch.
* Density compensated level kit for continuous level measurements in all vessels where the material has changing densities, dielectric constants and temperature.
* Hydrostatic level kit for level, head pressure and density measurement in open or closed tanks using hydrostatic pressure sensors.
* Specific gravity/yeast extraction kit for in-line measurement of the specific gravity of beer.
* Steam mass kit for continuous determination of steam mass flow, mainly for boilers.
The philosophy of the Applipac family is to perform elementary mathematical calculations in the field close to the process, saving cabling costs and reducing CPU overhead in the PLC/DCS. Endress+Hauser has bundled typical process measurement algorithms into user-friendly kits containing Applipac software running on Commutec hardware. Embedded in each kit is extensive Endress + Hauser experience in optimising processes.
