Versatile analog input modules

October 2004 PLCs, DCSs & Controllers Information Security

The Adam-4017/4018, available from ProMicro, are 16-bit, eight-channel analog input modules providing programmable input ranges on all channels. They offer a cost-effective solution for industrial measurement and monitoring applications. A 3 kV d.c. optical isolation between the analog input and the modules protects the modules and peripherals from damage due to high input line voltages.

A 4*#189; digit LED display on the face of the Adam-4011D allows the user to monitor process readings at their source. The module displays readings in a wide variety of data formats as well as high/low alarm messages.

The Adam-4018M features six differential and two single-ended channels. Its 128 KB of flash memory can accommodate up to approximately 38 000 data samples and will write until its memory is exhausted. It has a remotely configurable sampling interval of 2 s to 18 h. This module is links industrial processes and PCs, enabling remote process monitoring from virtually any kind of computer.

Suitable for loadcell and stress measurement, the Adam-4016 features 3 kV d.c. isolation and accepts voltage and current input signals. The module includes two digital outputs for programmable alarm output and another two digital outputs for individual use. This enables the module to independently control on/off modes without a host PC.
