NewElec's GA range of earth leakage motor protection relays is suitable for DOL applications involving large kW motors and is the perfect choice when used with variable speed drives. The relays eliminate the need for matching tripping curve characteristics with core selection and allow a single core to be used in conjunction with both IDMT and instantaneous trip curves.
Designed for flush door mounting, the GA range requires an auxiliary supply of either 110 or 220 V a.c. One of either two yellow LEDs is illuminated to indicate the tripping curve characteristics selected by the user while a red LED indicates a trip condition.
The main trip relay automatically resets when the earth leakage current is interrupted to permit the closure of the main circuit breaker after the MCCB has cleared the earth fault. The relays offer high stability when exposed to electromagnetic and radio interference and are available for an earth leakage sensing threshold from 250 to 1000 mA.
