Surgetek’s HV division offers the DEHN range of portable earthing and short-circuiting devices for use in overhead transmission and distribution power lines, indoor and outdoor sub-stations, electrified railway traction systems and transformer and switchgear terminals.

The equipment ensures the safety of personnel while working on low, medium and high voltage electrical systems in the event of accidental energisation. The devices are designed and manufactured according to client requirements and are rated in accordance with SANS 1934 to withstand full system fault current conditions for the total duration of the fault. The units are tested to simulate the worst possible conditions, and comply with the electrical, mechanical and humidity penetration requirements of SANS 61230. Various kits are available for overhead line contacts, transformers at overhead line towers, as well as construction machines, cranes and maintenance vehicles.
