Portable oil test sets

Megger’s OTS60PB 60 kV and OTS80PB 80 kV portable oil test sets are designed to make accurate measurement of the breakdown voltage of insulating oils a quick and simple task, whether the work is carried out in the field or the laboratory.

The test sets are suitable for use with mineral, silicon, high molecular weight hydrocarbon (HMWH) and ester (both synthetic and natural) insulating liquids. They offer a choice of fully automatic operation with preloaded international test standards or user-configured test sequences to suit special requirements.

The OTS60PB and OTS80PB test sets incorporate a precision adjusting system for electrode spacing, which has a locking facility to ensure that the spacing cannot be accidentally altered during testing. An ultra-fast trip detection circuit with direct measurement of both voltage and current is provided, and the instruments also include facilities for measuring the temperature of the test sample.

Quick and simple test termination is assured and the dual-redundant high-voltage cut-off circuitry switches off the HV supply if the lid is opened. The coloured display is designed to be read in direct sunlight while the transparent lid enables test observation. An optional printer can be added to the series for interpretation of onsite test results. Many automatic tests are included, including the SABS/SANS test sequence.
