Compact power hubs with redundant connectors

September 2014 PLCs, DCSs & Controllers

Lower operating costs, increased system availability, smaller footprint and longer service life: these are a few of the benefits from the latest FieldConnex compact power hubs from Pepperl+Fuchs. These modular fieldbus power supplies for eight segments are designed for large-scale projects with long cable runs and high device counts. Pairs of modules power each segment redundantly.

Motherboards are selectable with connectors to the right or left for mirror symmetric cabinet layout. They are delivered for connection via cables with DCS-specific plugs or with redundant connectors. This saves effort and cost for planning, wiring and acceptance testing.

Pepperl+Fuchs also offers comprehensive support services: connector cables are available off the shelf for Invensys and Honeywell customised solutions are built to order for other DCS systems. The factory delivers complete DCS cabinets built to order and with factory acceptance test directly to the site.

FieldConnex compact power hubs are characterised by:

* Low heat dissipation (1,6 W per channel). Low power requirements also for climate control and high segment count per cabinet.

* Redundancy of power supply modules.

* Advanced diagnostics module for the physical layer for fast fieldbus commissioning and online monitoring.

Top quality components, minimal footprint and low heat dissipation in the industry ensure the supplies provide reliable operation over a long operating life.
