Telco Sensors advanced industrial light curtain series presents the ultimate in design and performance, providing reliable and problem-free protection, detection and positioning in the most demanding applications.
A complete set consists of a self-contained multi-beam infrared transmitter (SGT) and a receiver (SGR). Control circuitry, electronics and optical components are all integrated into the detector profiles enabling direct connection without the need of a separate power supply/controller unit.
The product is housed in the renowned slim line light curtain profile. It has a light immunity of more than 100 000 lux rating, is TÜV approved and has the option of IP67 rating. Latest technology and optical components ensure a dense sweeping curtain of cross scanning beams to ensure that nothing passes unnoticed. The advanced automatic signal tracking (AST) feature ensures that no onsite set-up or adjustment is required. The signal level of each individual channel is adjusted automatically compensating for misalignment and contamination during operation.
Another key feature is the dynamic sequential blanking function, which enables the light curtain to be mounted into the profile of industrial doors and as the door closes each channel from top downwards, blanks out in succession leaving the below remaining beams active to detect an object in the protection area.
Application example
At toll gates, the Telco industrial light curtain is used for classification of vehicles. A light curtain is used instead of a single beam system to prevent cars, trucks etc. with a trailer being counted as two separate vehicles. With the use of the light curtain system the tow bar on a vehicle with a trailer is also detected, thereby classifying the vehicle as just one.
Other applications include fork lift and pedestrian detection passing through industrial doors, truck and vehicle positioning, passenger detection on trains and buses, car wash and vehicle stacking.
