“Unitronics PLC + HMI in one make our fertiliser blending and batching plants affordable and economical to operate,” says Pieter Coetzee, production manager of Bosveld Kunsmis. “Our problem was to install a control system for a fertiliser blending and batching plant which would be affordable and cost effective to operate.
“We decided to use the Unitronics V1210-T20B-J touch screen PLC + HMI in one because of the large screen display and affordability of this unit. Also, no extra licensing fees are payable as the software is supplied free of charge.
“The PLC chosen for this application is working well and over and above its accuracy and speed, it has added value to the productivity of the plant. The fact that the Unitronics PLC incorporates new technology and the software could be custom built for our needs has made it easy to operate the entire plant more efficiently.
“Also, the technical support received from Vision Automation was outstanding. We will be considering more Unitronics products during the expansion of our plant planned for the near future.”
