300 W enclosed DC/DC converter

Electrical Power & Protection
Mean Well has expanded its railway power supply family with the introduction of the RSD-300 series (300 W) to fulfil the requirements of vehicle applications. Featuring 2:1 input range and 4000 VDC input/output isolation, RSD-300 series are characterised by 5G anti-vibration ability, wide working temperature range
(-40 to 70°C), protections for short circuit, overload, output over voltage, over temperature, and input reverse polarity, as well as built-in constant current limiting and 40 mm low profile design.
With up to date circuit design, the supply achieves up to 91% efficiency depending on load using a semi-encapsulated PCB to provide anti-moisture, anti-dust, heat dissipation and well as anti-vibration characteristics. It can be cooled without forced air, ideal for vehicle applications in harsh environments. The design of these new converters comply with railway certificates (EN50155, IEC60571, IEC61373, EN50121-3-2), so that they are suitable to be used in all kinds of vehicles equipped with a DC power source. The applications include railway, metro rapid transit system, subway, bus, leisure trailers and maritime vessels. In addition, along with external batteries as the energy source, they are suitable for harsh industrial installations such as security systems, DC UPS systems and telecommunications equipment.
