Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Applied Energy Solutions distributor for ReLab Software

July 2012 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Applied Energy Solutions (AES) has announced the expansion of its high quality software offerings to include ReLab Software’s complete line of Scada/HMI, OPC communications and system integration products. AES joins ReLab’s global distribution network extending its ability to provide customers with local support around the world. AES will handle technical support, training and sales for South Africa.

This new partnership allows AES to deliver world-class industrial automation software that enables customers to implement robust automation solutions faster and more effectively. The scada, OPC, HMI, communication and integration software from ReLab uses technology that is fully interoperable with industry-standard solutions. This standards-based interoperability allows the integration of best-of-breed software and hardware to meet all the demands of modern industry, while still providing support for legacy systems.

The ReLab automation solutions provide the flexibility required to meet the unique needs and challenges of multiple industry sectors, including:

* Transmission and distribution: ReLab delivers interoperable, standards-based solutions that dynamically scale and upgrade power grids to meet needs for today and tomorrow.

* Electrical power generation and storage: the IEC-61850 communications protocol eliminates need to know multiple protocols and provides effective, modernised operational control, data acquisition and device protection.

* Substation automation: ReLab’s IEEE C37.118 OPC Device Driver is the only supports synchrophasor implementation for large-scale monitoring of grid stability and safety factors.

* Industrial automation: the software meets the needs of modern industrial automation and control systems with an interoperable, standards-based approach that integrates and controls power and manufacturing systems through a single solution.

ReLab and ETAP

ReLab Software provides cost effective solutions for handling the low-level communication between intelligent electronic devices to provide the interface between the ETAP real-time software and system hardware. With this synergy, it makes sense for Applied Energy Solutions to incorporate ReLab into its core business offerings as AES is now positioned to integrate ETAP real-time systems, expanding AES’s portfolio of high quality engineering services and industry leading software solutions. Application areas include communications, Scada/HMI, integration and logic.
