The LinkIQ Cable+Network Tester

June 2021 Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration

As an exclusive distributor for Fluke Networks in sub-Saharan Africa, Datanet is excited to announce the official launch of the LinkIQ Cable+Network Tester.

As a global leader in certification, troubleshooting and installation tools for professionals who install and maintain critical cabling infrastructure, Fluke Networks provides contractors and building owners with the tools necessary to get the job done efficiently. Whether working on complex data environments or almost outdated analog telephone sets, Fluke Networks has an appropriate solution.

With the launch of the LinkIQ Cable+Network Tester, users will now be able to verify cable performance as well as solve network connectivity issues through using frequency-based measurements that calculate bandwidth and ensure tested links meet client performance requirements.

“Datanet is honoured to be associated with a globally recognised vendor such as Fluke Networks,” said Datanet Brand Manager, Eugene Botes. “Being brand agnostic, Fluke happens to be one of the few solution providers that can certify and test the majority of products supplied by Datanet, as well as many other cabling brands within the marketplace, including copper and fibre solutions within the CCTV, PoE, Industrial Ethernet, as well as the commercial office and datacentre spaces.”

Key features of the new tester include:

• Cable performance testing up to 10GBASE-T via frequency-based measurements.

• Network features such as Nearest Switch Diagnostics plus advertised data rate, switch name and port number and VLAN.

• PoE verification that detects the PoE class (1-8) and power and performs a load test of available PoE from the connected switch.

• Displays cable length, wire map and distance to open or short.

According to Botes, Datanet has the ability to provide its customers with industry-leading solutions thanks to the partnership with Fluke Networks. In addition, the company can also offer clients CCTT training certification.
