SAIMC: Witbank Branch
May 2002
SAIMC
Hi to all the 'Control Freaks' out there. It is with pleasure that we once again submit our monthly article for the BEST publication in the control and instrumentation fraternity.
The Witbank sub-branch would like to make use of this opportunity to thank the team for their support and assistance to get Witbank Branch noted in their mag, we are proud to be associated with SA I&C!
Membership application seems to be a burning issue based on the feedback we got, I am glad to report that we managed to sort out the process with Mrs Townsend of the council. New members can look forward to much quicker response in future. Remember to get those invoices paid ASAP, this will ensure that your much sought-after membership certificate will be issued in much shorter time. Once we have our database sorted out I am sure we will surprise some of the more established branches!
Regrettably we did not have a branch meeting during April. You can look forward to our event in May; this one is guaranteed to make up for April!
A hearty thank you to Mr Finlay of Penmac Exhibitions who gave us the opportunity to present the SAIMC at the Witbank Road Show. The day was a great success and a healthy interest was shown in our prestigious institute. I hope those application forms will roll in.
Lastly, we would like to challenge our industries east of Middelburg (Nelspruit/Lowveld region) to become more involved with the SAIMC. I am referring to the paper mills, mines and other manufacturing industries. There are serious advantages in joining the SAIMC, and we are looking forward to having members from these industries.
Remember to watch the local press for details on our planned events!
Pieter de Beer, Secretary, Witbank
