At the October technology evening, Reino Janse from Swagelok presented on ‘Regulator Issues’. The presentation, which is available to interested members, touched on topics such as main types of pressure regulators, different types of sensing, diaphragm vs piston and key terminology including creep, droop, lockup and the Joule-Thomson effect. The branch thanks Reino for the interesting and informative presentation.
We already have a number of companies which have expressed interest in technology evenings for next year, including Adroit, Wika, Vega, Sick Automation and Swagelok. Members, please feel free to communicate your interests to the committee so that we can try to set up something appropriate.
Branch status
At the SAIMC annual Gala Dinner, the branch was honoured to achieve Gold Status. In fact we missed Platinum by a single point due to not hosting a 12th technology evening, something we will be working on for next year.
