SAIMC: Tshwane branch

August 2017 SAIMC

The June Technology Evening did not take place due to the AAF, but the topic for July Advanced Operating Graphics hosted by Yokogawa.

Feedback for the past period

AAF2017: SAIMC shared a stand with Technews giving on-duty members from the branch an opportunity to interact with current and prospective members and patrons. Some were also fortunate enough to be invited to the opening breakfast hosted by the SAIMC where numerous council members spoke about the challenges facing the industry such as attracting future talent, education and the development and adoption of standards.

Manufacturing Indaba: SAIMC was invited to participate in this event hosted at Emperors Palace. At the event, we met with more than 12 associations or bodies such as DS /CSIR, merSeta, AREI, SAEEC, etc. The SAIMC thanks Ms Liz Hart, the MD of the event and her staff.

Social function

The branch is considering options for the year-end event and so far we have been in discussions with the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria to attend its annual Octoberfest on the evening of 14 September. The cost is around R375 per head with seating in groups of eight per table, which allows for some branding. The price includes entertainment, meal, one drink and parking. The actual cost is dependent on type of meal and amount of drinks. Please let us know if you or your company are interested in attending. If there is insufficient interest, we will look at other options so feel free to make suggestions to any of the committee members or via email to [email protected]
