SAIMC News: Secunda Branch
February 2002
SAIMC
The year kicked of with a bang. Our AGM went very well. The members decided that you do not mess with a winning recipe and the previous committee members were re-elected. We also decided that we need new ideas if we are to take up the challenge in the New Year with all the branches actively competing.
The committee for 2002 is as per the table.
Branch meetings dates for 2002 to be held at Wika offices unless otherwise stated are:
12 February
7 March
11 April in Standerton
2 May
13 June
18 July
15 August
12 September in Kriel
10 October
Tony is organising these events and if there is a supplier interested in a specific date to present a topic he can be contacted. Remember everything is happening in our area. We also plan three site visits for the year and Dennis is organising them. He will take requests from our members as to which sites they would like to visit.
Annual events
30 May, Golf Day
8 November, YEF
23 January 2003, AGM
All indications are that this year will, once again, be very exciting but very busy. Make sure you book your seat on the bus and attend our meetings and functions. Hopefully we can keep up the attendance figures and even improve on them. It is still the best opportunity for everyone to learn something, solve old problems, finding out what is happening in the area, meet new friends and have fun.
This year we will not be too hard on the Johannesburg branch, because they must heal first. A warning to the other branches: we have to get rid of some of our energy and excitement and you might become the outlet. Make sure that we hear from you - or you shall become the victim.
Good news is that we have just received our first batch order.
Remember to order your shirts and caps.
Where will the Secunda Branch surface next?
