SAIMC: Durban branch

January 2016 SAIMC

The Durban branch held its annual dinner at the Durban Country Club on 14 November 2015. With a packed venue of 220 guests, and a great buzz of enthusiasm and excitement, the evening kicked off with entertainer Mo Magic breaking the ice with some magic at individual tables.

Everybody found Mo to be ... well, a magic entertainer – he was funny, witty and intelligent, and of course as a graduate engineer he was a perfect fit for our audience. Music was provided by Leon Rautenbach who proved to be a popular addition to our live entertainment line-up.

And it seemed like Mo also enjoyed the evening as he tweeted during the event.

The formalities were short and sweet with Mark Calvert doing a great job as MC for the evening and his first introduction was to branch chairman, Howard Lister, who gave a run-down of the year’s events – proudly showing off the award the branch achieved during 2015, and thanking the committee for their hard work and dedication.
