As part of the August Technology Evening, Vinesh Maharaj visited the Secunda branch to discuss with members the new way forward for the SAIMC, and the plan for the future. Members were encouraged to participate in this by submitting ideas to council, which added to the excitement of the then pending re-launch.
Continuing on the chosen theme for the year, valves, Mr P Botha gave a presentation on valve sizing. This included a look at manual and computer methods, the selection process and looking at standards and relevant approvals. The branch would like to thank Mr Botha for this presentation as it was educational and worthwhile.
Each month this year the branch is focusing on valves and all instrumentation professionals are welcome to come and join for knowledge sharing and networking.
The next Technology Evening will be held at the Sasol recreational club in Secunda. The focus for this year is valves. For any additional queries or to be added to the distribution list please contact Johan Maritz at [email protected]
