The golf day teed off at 07:30 in favourable weather conditions at the Richards Bay Country Club. This year’s event was an improvement from last year, both in terms of sponsorship and participation. The sponsors managed to set up waterholes on the greens and tee boxes where they served snacks, cool drinks and shooters. Some also held raffles and competitions where prizes could be won. SAIMC also had its waterhole and gave away prizes for the closest to the pin.
[L to R] Peter Molokoane, Wilson Maminimini, Talent Nyandoko, Vusi Nene, Jan Schallies, Farai Pasipamire and Mervyn Govender.
The prize-giving ceremony was the last event for the day where the chairman gave his vote of thanks and a total of 16 prizes were given away to the winners. We would like to thank the following sponsors for their sponsorship in cash and prizes: ICA, Thermo Fischer Scientific, EOH Mthombo, TMS, Philco Systems, IFM, ABB and EAS, also to Zululand Observer for the setup and printing of the Golf Day poster in the local newspaper. Special thanks to the committee for making this day a success. Our challenge looking ahead is to get total participation from our members and we look forward to an even bigger Event in 2014.
