The Durban branch’s June Technology Evening was kindly sponsored by Endress+Hauser and Cédric Jeanneret, head of sales and business development - Flowtec, Switzerland, was in the country and took time to discuss ‘Flow innovation: cost savings in the processing of hydrocarbons and how new technologies increase the efficiency’.

There was record attendance to hear Cédric going through the features and benefits of Coriolis mass flowmeters including:
Working principle.
* Historical background.
* A natural barrier?
* Positive effects of four tubes.
* The importance of a symmetrical design.
* Measurement performance.
The new Durban Country Club venue is proving popular and after the presentation guests were treated to a slap-up meal of roast chicken with lots of convivial networking opportunities and industry camaraderie.
