The committee decided to do a survey of its membership in order to understand their expectations. The survey will also be used to determine if members are happy with the branch activities and other factors. The results were collected and analysed during April and will be used to determine the direction of the branch going forward. All suggestions from members will be taken seriously and incorporated into branch strategy. Although the results have already been collected, Cape Town members who have not done so yet are encouraged to complete the survey anyway. The committee will continue to look at the results and suggestions/ideas in the survey. This is a process of branch recalibration in an effort to align branch activities with members’ expectations. The survey can be found at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6NJ2ZTM (NB: Only SAIMC Cape Town members to complete the survey).
Branch CPD points accreditation sub-committee
The branch is excited to announce that a CPD accreditation sub-committee is being formed. This committee will evaluate various courses and presentations for CPD accreditation in Cape Town. Therefore, in the future, the monthly technology presentations hosted by the SAIMC Cape Town branch will have CPD points as approved by this sub-committee. There may be other courses/seminars that may be accredited with CPD points in the future.
Branch activities
The next Technology Evening will be on Thursday 16 May. The presentation will be on the interesting topic: ‘System information modelling (SIM)’. The presenter, Ro Gillespie, is from I&E Systems based in New South Wales. Please join us for this exciting presentation. Further details will be communicated via e-mail, and the branch’s various social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter). Members can just search for SAIMC Cape Town. There is a lot of information being communicated through these platforms. Please join/like the SAIMC Cape Town pages/groups.
