August introduced exciting prospects for the return of summer and increased attendance for the Vaal branch Technology Evenings for the remainder of the year. Attendance at the meetings has been pretty consistent so far and the month of August maintained the momentum. The featured talk was on ‘Tuneable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS)’ for moisture measurement. It was presented by Gerard McKeogh of General Electric who travelled all the away from the Republic of Ireland on behalf of NIC Instrumentation. The presentation was well received with delegates receiving valuable knowledge on the intricacies of moisture analytics using GE’s innovative laser absorption technology.
Branch chairman Solly Mabitsela (l) thanking Gerard McKeogh and Klaas Cronje with certificates of appreciation.
September promises to be even more exciting, there is a visit planned to the Heineken Brewery in Sedibeng followed by an Emerson presentation on remote diaphragm seals to round off a jam packed day. Contact Oratile Sematle (branch secretary) on [email protected] for further details.
