The Secunda branch hosted its annual golf day at Walker Park Golf Club in Evander on 31 May. We had a typical Highveld autumn morning, which happily warmed to contribute to an excellent day of golf. The format was a 4 ball alliance with a scramble drive, three scores counted towards each team’s standing. Players were treated well at the various watering holes.
The winning team was from Metso Automation who ended the day on 146 points. In total 34 teams took part and each player received a well-deserved prize during the ceremony afterwards. The day was concluded with an excellent dinner and some socialising. The committee would like to thank the sponsors and players for their participation and for spending the day with us; photos taken during the day are available on the SAIMC website under Secunda branch.
On the marketing front the branch is considering building a demonstration trailer made up of various instrumentation and automation technologies. The trailer will be used to showcase C&I equipment to teaching institutions to supplement the theoretical side of the training. Anyone with ideas or who would like to get involved can contact branch chairman, Kobus Reinecke, [email protected]
