The Durban branch of the SAIMC held its November Technology Evening at the Westville Country Club as usual. This month it was kindly sponsored by NIC Instruments who tied it in with a visit from principals Magnetrol, in Belgium. Application engineer, Annick Halterman, spoke about the history of guided wave radar level technology, as well as how to apply GWR in an industrial level measuring environment. Annick is a specialist on GWR and was involved in the development of the 2-wire TDR system, so she came with good credentials and experience. She shared some experiences with us, gave us a great practical demonstration and fielded lots of interesting questions from the floor.
