The year started well with a good turnout to a presentation by Ali Alberts from Incledon on valves for extreme applications. These Technology Evenings have a twofold benefit in that they are a source of information for members seeking solutions to difficult problems and they also provide a forum where these can be discussed with colleagues in the industry.

Our next technology evening is planned for 3 March, with a visit to the BMW plant arranged for the end of March. Other site visits planned for the year are to the Wika and Pratley factories. These site visits have great value since they are practical in nature allowing members to see the instrumentation many use on a daily basis while it is being manufactured. It provides valuable insight into the correct selection and use of this equipment.
A request to all members is to register on the SAIMC website. We will be publishing information such as our newsletter, our committee meeting minutes and also video clips of our technology evening presentations on the site. A lot of other useful information will also be found there from now on. The site url is www.saimc.net
