The topic for the July technology evening organised by the Durban branch of the SAIMC will be Alarm Management and will be held on Wednesday 1 July 2009. Dave Wibberley, who will be presenting this paper, is the managing director of Adroit Technologies – arguably the biggest developer of scada systems in Africa. He holds a BSc Mech. Eng. Along with a GDE in Industrial Engineering.
With over 20 years experience in industrial automation, Dave is passionate about systems that continuously deliver value to their owners and in this presentation he will share the experiences, methodologies and outcomes of adopting alarm management, including the widely accepted key performance measures (KPIs). The presentation will also explore the latest thinking around work being done to come up with a single measure, namely overall alarm effectiveness (OAE) against which companies can continually measure and improve themselves with a view to achieve world-class status.
