The 2008 Durban branch annual dinner was a well supported success that filled the entire Heritage Theatre in Hillcrest.
SAIMC chairman, Paulo da Silva, was greeted with roars of approval when he opened his speech with a tribute to new Currie Cup champions – The Sharks. Paulo went on to discuss the effects of the changing economic climate and reiterated the aims of the SAIMC council to assist its branches and add value for its members. He congratulated the Durban branch for its renewed energy and vigour and concluded with good wishes for 2009.
Once the formalities were over the patrons enjoyed a musical treat in the form of a tribute to the music of Elvis Presley and Freddy Mercury. The band wowed everyone with timeless classics from rock and roll’s undisputed King and Queen.
