At our last meeting on 3 September we held our third technology evening of 2008. Our speaker for the evening was Alex Willemse Jnr, Alpret Control Specialists product specialist on asset optimisation, and his subject was wireless technology, wireless security and wireless networking.
Kevin McElroy (right) was on hand to assist Alex Willemse with the set-up of the demonstration network
While the debate goes on as to whether one should opt for Profibus or Foundation Fieldbus instead of dedicated cable runs, others are contemplating the quantum leap straight to wireless, and we obviously wanted to hear all about it. Alex gave us an excellent presentation and live demonstration of the technology involved.
Thanks to all the visitors who attended, you are welcome to attend again and do not need to be members to do so.
