At our last meeting we hosted a talk by Barry Dudley: 'Imaging in Africa'. Barry outlined the various uses of advanced imaging solutions for measurement and control. Some of the topics included: image analysis: (counting and sizing); accept/reject systems; stack emissions; forest fire detection; licence plate recognition; facial identification and other aspects of verification. One of the highlights was the practical demonstration of the technology in action using examples from KZN sites with end-users on hand to share their experiences.

The Speaker at our next technology evening is Warren Scott, business development manager of Abacus Automation who has 20 years' experience in the field of automation and control. His organisation has received numerous innovation awards over the past number of years from one of the world's largest, German-based, electrical and automation conglomerates.
Scott will be speaking on the innovative motion control solution his company has developed in conjunction with Exigo Motion Control.
