The Council is feverishly planning our prestigious annual banquet. It will this year be held again at the Rand Club. You can look forward to scrumptious cuisine and an evening filled with motivational entertainment. I encourage you to book your tables early.
All our branches are doing exceptional work, attendance is up, and this indicates to us that we are doing something right. We are constantly improving on our value add. The Cape Town branch is up and running very well, the Durban branch is doing great too. Johannesburg, Secunda and Zambia are still the strongest branches but I see serious competition coming from our coastal colleagues. It is certainly going to be interesting to see who wins 2008 branch of the year?
You may not be aware that the SAIMC has a sub-committee for the ECSA accreditation of training courses, seminars etc. This means that if you have your training course or seminar accredited by the SAIMC, that the presenters and participants attending qualify for CPD points. Interested parties must submit their proposed content to Johan Maartens on his e-mail address [email protected]. Johan will advise you of the number of CPD points you qualify for once he has evaluated your content and ensured it complies with the ECSA criteria that has been set. The evaluation cost is minimal. Your accreditation will remain valid for three years, provided you comply on an ongoing basis with the ECSA requirements set which Johan will explain to you.
