It is time for the SAIMC to get a face lift. I am honoured for the privilege given to me to try and guide the SAIMC in a new direction.
Welcome to my first president’s report. You will be able to keep yourself up to date on a monthly basis, as to what is going on within the SAIMC. Good communication is one of the issues that I feel is important for the council to achieve this year. Not only between the branches but also keeping our members informed of what we are actually doing.
Secondly, I plan to assist the branches a lot more than in the past. In the end, this is where the value, to you, our members, lies.
Thirdly, we want to conclude our re-alignment with ECSA. This will ensure that every time you attend an SAIMC meeting, you will be able to claim your CPD points.
So these are the initial goals that I wish to set for the 2008 Council. As we have not yet had our first official SAIMC Council meeting, I can not go into too much detail. As soon as I have the committee’s backing on the goals I will share them with everybody.
I look forward to a revitalising year for the SAIMC. I can guarantee you that you will see changes and improvements going forward, this is a must for any organisation in this day and age. If you can not adapt to the ever changing world and demands, you will be left behind.
I look forward to receiving any comments you may have on the SAIMC, good or bad. Make suggestions on what we should do, or any other matters you feel strongly about. Those that know me already know that I always ask for feedback. If the SAIMC does not get your feedback how can we improve or gauge what we are doing?
