I have been serving on the Johannesburg committee for six years now and 2007 has been the best year since joining. At the beginning of the year the committee sat down and decided what we wanted to achieve this year. Over the past couple of years we have seen our numbers slowly diminishing. The committee realised that we had to change our strategy in order to rectify the situation.
We decided that in order to add value for the members we needed to increase awareness. We did this through sending a regular newsletter and holding meetings at convenient locations, the idea being to take the SAIMC to the members. Our plan proved successful and we averaged in excess of 40 members per meeting.
We have exceeded our expectations and we would also like to thank our members for their participation. Please remember that this is your committee not ours and remember that we need and value your input.
The committee for 2007 was - Paulo da Silva, Johan Van Jaarsveldt, Paulo de Sousa Gomes, Richard Grover, Nico Marneweck, Debbie Scott and Bill Steenberg.
The Johannesburg committee wishes you and your family the most blessed Christmas and a prosperous, healthy 2008! We look forward to your company at our 2008 meetings.
