Johannesburg branch

July 2006 SAIMC

It is almost unbelievable that we have reached the middle of the year already.

One of the highlights of the Johannesburg Branch is the winter Golf Day which was held on 2 June 2006. I would like to thank our members, the players and the sponsors for another successful golf day that we had at the Kempton Park Golf Club. I would also like to express special thanks to our committee members for organising the golf day and making sure that everything ran smoothly.

The 25 four-balls took to the course, where they were entertained and also well and truly 'watered' by the sponsors on the tees. We were disappointed by the absence of the team from the Secunda Branch of the SAIMC.

Prize-giving was conducted by Paulo da Silva and Johan van Jaarsveld while I was toiling away in Kazakhstan.

It was unanimously voted by the golfers the prize for the 'Best Watering Hole' was awarded to Alpret Control Specialists, judged by the golfers themselves.

A special thanks to the following for their support of the SAIMC JHB branch:

* Adroit Technologies

* Alpret Control Specialists

* Bürkert Contromatic

* Comtest

* élancommunications

* Elen Enclosures

* Flowserve

* Honeywell

* ITmatic

* Krohne

Please diarise the next SAIMC Golf Day to be held on 16 November 2006. This is the perfect opportunity for suppliers and clients to network in a relaxed environment, while at the same time supporting the aims of the SAIMC.

Please also remember to attend our meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of each month, to take part in technical discussion and for social enjoyment.

Jan van Wyk, Chairman, SAIMC JHB Branch
