The SAIMC Durban Branch hosted its latest technology meeting on 4 June 2025 at the Premier Splendid Inn in Pinetown. The event drew a strong turnout, highlighting the keen interest in the topic ‘Understanding Level Measurement: Contact vs Non-Contact Methods’.
Attendees were treated to an engaging and informative presentation by Prenesan Naicker and Lenny Chetty, both area sales managers at WIKA Instruments. The duo expertly unpacked the science and technology behind level measurement, covering both contact and non-contact techniques.
Their presentation explored a range of critical and non-critical applications, providing insights into best practices for selecting the appropriate level measurement instruments. The session was highly interactive and the audience left with a deeper understanding of this essential area of instrumentation. The Durban branch would like to thank WIKA for its kind sponsorship of the evening.
The Durban Branch introduced a new feature this month aimed at extending the value of its technical sessions. Sicelo Bele, supported by Whitney Mtolo, posed a few follow-up questions to the presenters in a short, informal video interview.
