The Durban branch of the SAIMC was pleased to welcome Vusi Sithole, managing member of Hybrid Control Corporation in Richards Bay, who presented to the branch on 7 May in Pinetown. Vusi’s presentation was on the very pertinent topic of ‘Infrastructure monitoring and control for water loss management’.
With water being one of our most valuable commodities, and a point of anxiety for us all, Vusi looked at some key factors:
• Water challenges in South Africa.
• Practical case study.
• Social and economic benefits.
• Proposed way forward.
Vusi earned a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Durban University of Technology in 1998, with the focus on process control, automation, telemetry and scada. He has over 20 years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining electrical, instrumentation and power systems across various industrial environments. He founded Hybrid Control Corporation in 2009, and has continued to strive towards sustainable economic upliftment. He has become a major contributor in implementing technology solutions for the water and wastewater industries.
The Durban branch would like to thank Hybrid Control Corporation for their kind sponsorship of the meeting.
