Bosch Rexroth hydraulics and pneumatics training calendar

March 2024 News

Bosch Rexroth Africa has published its comprehensive training calendar for 2024. The training courses will focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and will be held in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town at predetermined dates throughout the year. Designed to cater to a wide range of individuals, from novices to certified engineers, these courses aim to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to excel in their respective fields.

The courses are available for individuals seeking to bridge the skills gap and futureproof their careers across various industries, including industrial, mining, agriculture, and offshore oil and gas. With applications found in industries such as mobile equipment, shipbuilding, and production plants, the demand for hydraulics and pneumatics training continues to grow.

Bosch Rexroth Africa Training Department is an accredited training provider with MerSETA. The company is a registered training provider, ensuring that participants receive the highest quality of education and training.

Clear course objectives

The hydraulic training courses offered by Bosch Rexroth Africa have clear objectives, and are tailored to meet the requirements of trainees across the African continent. According to group training manager, Allen van Gent, the objective of these hydraulic courses is to provide course participants with sufficient knowledge regarding the principles of hydraulics, fluid characteristics, filtration contamination, basic circuit design, and more. These courses cover a wide range of topics including hydraulic pumps and motors, valve theory, cylinder construction, filtration, and basic fault-finding techniques.

The pneumatics courses aim to equip participants with knowledge of safety, identification of components, motion diagrams, circuit design, and fault-finding of pneumatic circuits. Van Gent explains: “Our pneumatic courses are designed to provide attendees with sufficient knowledge to understand the function and applications of different pneumatic components. This includes the building and fault-finding of pneumatic circuits from simple circuits to five-line cascade circuits.”

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a core aspect of Bosch Rexroth Africa’s training philosophy. The training department has obtained validation from the South African Institute of Mechanical Engineering for several courses for all fluid power training that forms part of a registered engineer’s CPD.

Courses designed for the digital age

Bosch Rexroth Africa acknowledges the evolving needs of the industry and the increasing demand for automation and digitalisation. To address these developments, the training courses are designed in phases, from basic to advanced. “The company’s training department is continuously working on designing new courses to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of the industry. We stay ahead of technology through our partnership with Bosch Germany, ensuring that participants receive training on the latest advancements,” says van Gent.

The success stories of individuals and companies that have benefited from Bosch Rexroth Africa’s training programmes are numerous. Van Gent points out that clients have reported increased production and productivity, reduced downtime, and the development of highly skilled staff after attending the courses.
