The SAIMC Zambia has prepared a 3-Year Interim Plan (3YIP), to kick off the SAIMC's ideals and objectives and the impact on the industry, members and the institutions of learning. This plan will follow the following guidelines:

Monthly

* Ongoing Branch capacity building and strengthening to take place.

* Local membership subscriptions for running the Secretariat affairs to be collected.

* Instrumentation and engineering talks to be given at Branch Meetings.

Quarterly

* Presentation and demonstrations.

* Site visits.

* Institution and industry visits by the Branch Executive to encourage participation.

Biannually

* Regional technology workshop.

* Membership families braai day.

Annually

* Sub Branch Awards.

* Instrumentation students' scholarship and grant.

* Golf day.

* National banquet.

* SAIMC impact evaluation.

* Branch and Sub Branch elections.

The premises have just been secured for our Secretariat and moving is underway. The Composite Branch Membership Register (Old and New Members) is being compiled, and we have set up six Working Committees:

1. Maintenance and capacity building.

2. Membership.

3. Education and training.

4. Public relations and projects.

5. Scholarship, awards and grants.

6. Finance.
