Secunda Branch
July 2004
SAIMC
The month continued on the normal trend with presentations to our members and our big event of the year - our golf day. On that one we will report next month.
Wika Instruments has always been very supportive of the Secunda branch. Since we started as a sub branch in 1999 they have provided their facilities to us for our committee meetings. In 2001 when cost of a venue became an issue again they offered their premises to us for our regular meetings. After our AGM in 2002 when we wanted to go to our homes only to find that we were sitting with cars without wheels, the decision came that we will in future have all our meetings at the local Wika offices in Trichardt.
As the law states that if you squat for more that 24 hours you cannot be removed - and by now if all the hours are added the Secunda branch comply. Wika will therefore have to get a court interdict to get rid of us.
To thank Wika for their continuous support, Renier Holts, MD of Wika, was presented with a plaque at the yearly Wika Braai. Our sponsors are our livelihood and the SAIMC Secunda Branch acknowledge outstanding support. Again, thank you to Wika - we appreciate what you do.
Piet Van Rensburg, president of the Secunda branch of the SAIMC, used the occasion to present a Recognition Award to Rainer Holz in appreciation of WIKA’s assistance with the efforts of the Institute’s Secunda branch
