Secunda Branch

March 2004 SAIMC

Our first educational evening on Thursday 12th set the standard for the rest of the year, and if this one is going to be the standard, members of this branch are in for a treat of a lifetime. A turnout of 35 attendees for an unlikely subject (not a typical area of study for the average instrument guy): Mike Sessions presented a talk discussing how to select a valve for a specific application. All you fitters and mechanical engineers - watch out: we cannot be led around the bush any more! We can possibly teach you a thing or two. Highly educational and very interesting is about the best way to describe the presentation.

As promised, the Secunda committee structure was compiled and tasks divided amongst the members. The structure is shown in the table below.

Witbank sub-branch

It is true - a big date in their calendar has been set as well.

The announcement of their AGM is out and will take place on 11 March 2004 at the offices of Supplytech in Witbank. This branch needs all the help they can get and request people that are interested and willing to assist on their committee to please attend and join forces to make this branch a success as well. Imagine the reduced travel time and cost if you do not have to travel to Secunda. In the new era, with hijacks and robberies, travelling at night is one of the biggest concerns for our ladies at home - and with the secure parking at the Supplytech offices, what more can you ask for. Please attend and get some hot news that concerns you and your membership.

The Secunda branch: we have the vision, skills and commitment to be the power of the future.
