We would like to welcome the two new members to the 2004 Committee.

The AGM was very well attended. We were honoured to have our SAIMC President Johan Steyn and three past Branch Chairmen in attendance. The SAIMC Council was well represented with four of their members present. We also had a visit from Jo Melville and Zia Tomes from Exhibitions for Africa with Annet Thompson representing EE Publishing.

The 2004 Committee was voted in and after all the formalities were completed the floor was handed over to Dave Howcroft. Dave entertained us all by sharing his knowledge and experiences with turbine runaways. He explained in detail what happens when 40 tons of metal rotating at 40 000 rpm decides to climb off of its foundations and create its own landing strip... 8 km away!
