Joburg Branch beware - the Phoenix has risen... Rustenburg Branch is back in town!
On Wednesday evening, 19 November, the Rustenburg Branch resurrected itself and elected the following committee:
Chairman: Barnie Kruger
Vice chairman: Brian White
Secretary: Hentie Fourie
Treasurer: Paul Esterhuyse
Process Automation sponsored the evening and an informative lecture on 'The Modern Approach to Weighing' was professionally presented by Roger Perzl.
The evening was most enjoyable, with 18 people present, and six new potential members.
We are going to run a 'test case' with these six to find out how long it actually takes from the time someone shows an interest in the SAIMC until that person becomes a fully fledged member. This will not be a finger-pointing exercise, but rather a 'soul searching' undertaking to find out where our weak points are. This will include 'input/output' from the Applicant, the Branch, the CTR and the Council.
By the time this goes to print, the committee will have met to sort out membership, funds, 2004's calendar events, a Branch Newsletter and potential sponsors for 2004.
