Johannesburg Branch, branch of the year 2002!

June 2003 SAIMC

Our May meeting, sponsored by Jary Kapral (Elen Enclosures), was concluded with a most interesting presentation on IP and IK ratings. The definition of the degrees of protection, characteristics of plastics and polyester-based properties. The evening was a great success. If you were not there you really missed out. As usual, lots to eat and drink. We were also able to hand out a number of membership certificates.

Our next meeting will be held at the same place, Rivonia Country Club, on 11 June, time 18:30, our topic - modernisation and optimisation of a typical wastewater plant. Until recently, wastewater systems were operated mostly without any form of automation and with a minimum of measurements. Today, due to environmental concerns and government legislation a new awareness of pollution and tighter regulatory controls has changed water treatment plants drastically. The cost is - nothing! Everyone is welcome, members and non-members. Please attend! Remember - we always meet on the second Wednesday of the month.
