Johannesburg Branch, Branch of the Year 2002!
Yes, thanks to your support, suppliers and committee members, we have done it again!

We took back our Branch of the Year banner from Secunda proving again that it was only on loan.
As announced in last month's issue, the SAIMC hijacked our monthly meeting by holding its AGM at our venue - The Rivonia Country Club. 'History was made' as this meeting saw the most council members attending a branch function. Graeme Bell handed over the presidential chain of office to Johan Steyn.
It was good to see and meet our members from the Durban and Secunda branches.
The AGM was concluded with a most interesting presentation by the newly elected President, Johan Steyn. He explained the ins and outs of magnetic level measurement instruments. The evening was again a great success with lots to eat and drink. It was the council's AGM and you were all invited. We sent out 450 individual e-mails; however, attendance was well below our expectations.
Golf day
Due to our largest rival and competitor - the Secunda branch holding their annual Golf day in May - we have postponed the Jhb Golf day to July; date to be confirmed.
Our next meeting will be held at the same place: Rivonia Country Club on 14 May. Remember: We always meet on the second Wednesday of the month. Our topic: Corrosion and its effects. Members and non-members are all welcome. Please attend.
Site visit 31 June - BMW factory tour
Due to popular demand this will be the third year that we will be visiting this facility. Limited to 30 visitors, this is an opportunity not to be missed. Tour the BMW Rosslyn motor assembly plant at a cost of R50,00 per person - this includes lunch at their canteen. Please contact Johan Grobler to make your bookings: 011 233 7935, [email protected]
