Management software for power protection systems

March 2003 Electrical Power & Protection Products & Solutions

Meissner Power Systems, official distributor of the Invensys Power System range, has introduced management software for its range of power protection systems. These include a new version of CheckUPS Plus, remote consol command (RCCMD) software and a CS121, SNMP/Web adapter. CheckUPS Plus provides basic, or performance monitoring of the Powerware B series UPSs, via either Voltage-to-Frequency Converter (VFC) or RS232 serial interface, explains Graham Beyleveld, sales director at Meissner Power Systems.

"The CheckUPS monitoring and shutdown software allows full remote monitoring either by a simple flow diagram or detailed meter readings of all major parameters," he says. "Users can receive status information and measurement values of the connected UPS via serial interface or the network, using an SNMP adapter. In addition it calculates trends and stores all events into a log-file, while a mimic display allows a user-friendly interface in 11 languages."

RCCMD is a programme providing a sequential shutdown of an unlimited number of clients in a heterogeneous network for Powerware B series UPSs. This particular product can be used in conjunction with either CheckUPS Plus or CS121.

"The RCCMD module is used to provide a simultaneous shutdown of several servers which are all supported by the same UPS," says Beyleveld.

CS121 SNMP/Web adapters allow Powerware B series UPSs monitoring and management through a Web browser or a SNMP interfacing to network management station (NMS). The card can be connected to the UPS via VFC or serial protocol.
