New dual flow and temperature sensors
October 2002
Sensors & Transducers
IFM Electronic has released details of its new dual flow and temperature sensors for binary monitoring of liquids and gases. The type SI 1007, used in conjunction with a selection from a wide range of process adapters, allows virtually all applications to be covered, providing fast set-up and programming by means of pushbuttons.
Housed in high-grade stainless steel, the sensors are vibration and shock resistant, as well as pressure resistant up to 30 MPa (300 bar). They have gold plated contacts, a NO/NC output function, and settings can be secured by an electronic lock.
The sensor is unaffected by the orientation of the sensing face with respect to the direction of flow, and in addition, the display can be individually rotated providing increased flexibility of installation. The multicoloured LED bar graph instantly displays flow and temperature data, as well as the status of the programmed switch points.
Meeting IP67 requirements, the SI 1007 sensors operate on 20 to 36 V d.c. PNP with a 1-10 s response time. Their setting ranges for liquids and gases are 3 to 300 cm/s and 200-3000 cm/s respectively. Protection is provided against short circuits, reverse polarity and overloads, and the operating temperature range is from -20 to +80°C.
