Power relays for high switching loads

July 2002 Electrical Power & Protection

These SEV approved miniature power relays are particularly suitable for the application of high switching loads on printed circuit boards. The relay is mounted in a transparent plastic sealed case that is leakproof to IP67.

The high dielectric strength ensures galvanic isolation of control and load circuits conforming to protection Class 11. (Isolation group C/250 VAC, VDE-0110). The test voltage between contact and coil is 4 kV a.c. The air and creep distance between contact and coil is more than 8 mm. The smallest distance between the connection pins is 5 mm.

The REL28 relay is equipped with one or two changeover contacts of silver-nickel (AgNi) or silver-cadmium-oxide (AgCdO) for high switching loads of 5 to 16 A at 250 V a.c. or 24 V d.c. These are especially suitable for driving motors and heaters or as an interface between electronics and electro mechanics. Available in nominal coil voltages of 6, 12, 24, 48, 60, and 110 V d.c. or 12, 24 and 220 V a.c.

UL recognition

For use in equipment where the acceptability is determined by Underwriters Laboratories - Erni Elektroapparate has received UL E146126(M) approval for its range of REL28 relays.
