IT products for process visualisation

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has added three new option packages to its process visualisation system Simatic WinCC, with IT functions for archiving and evaluating data as well as machine data management.

The WinCC option Simatic IT PDA (Process Data Archive) offers a data archive that processes measured values with a maximum performance of 1500 tags per second.

The WinCC option Simatic IT PPA (Plant Performance Analyser) is a powerful Microsoft SQL server database for WinCC that features easy-to-use evaluation and analysis tools. These tools can be used, for example, to statistically evaluate complex measured values and then store them in the SQL database. Aside from the PDA archive, the Simatic IT PPA can also be used to analyse and store data from other archives.

Simatic IT PDA and Simatic IT PPA are compatible with the following Simatic WinCC configurations: single-user system, client/server system and multiserver system with distributed multiclients. It can be coupled to the Simatic WinCC via OPC/OLE functions.

The WinCC option package Simatic IT WinBDE can be used to analyse performance and production data from machines and production lines. After recording and classifying machine status readings and downtimes, the information is clearly displayed - for targeted analysis at the WinCC operator station.
