The new range of proportional, PID and On/Off controllers from Hanna Instruments are the accumulation of 19 years of R&D at Hanna. The pH 500 and mV 600 offer many possibilities, from single and dual setpoints to On/Off or proportional dosage, via potential free contacts or 4-20 mA control signals. Isolated outputs are hardware and software selectable either in voltage or current modes with zoom facility on any two points, to increase resolution of the output signal. A bi-directional RS232 interface is also available, so the user can monitor, control and log the operations of the controller using the software supplied. Temperature compensation is either automatic, through a PT 100 temperature probe, or manual. Password protection ensures that only authorised users have access to the settings. The hysteresis band can be set independently to fine tune dosing with the On/Off control mode. The proportional band and time period is also user selectable on the proportional models to avoid overdosing of chemicals. A PID with a 4-20 mA control signal is also available. Competitively priced, they are suitable for wherever accurate dosing is required.
