Collaborative manufacturing solution
May 2002
News
Industry Solutions recently introduced its new collaborative manufacturing strategy, providing the means for companies in the process industries to have realtime coordination, visibility and responsiveness across their enterprise - along with tighter collaboration with supply chain partners.
Through its collaborative manufacturing solution, Honeywell provides new web-based technologies that tie plant operations to the extended supply chain and link the production floor to the executive floor. Plant or mill personnel will have immediate access to relevant information and be able to collaborate efficiently with team members and internal organisations, as well as with external partners, suppliers and customers. With improved information, they will be able to optimise business process management and workflow.
Tracy Glende, vice president of Hi-Spec Solutions Business and Product Development, said, "Our collaborative manufacturing strategy and solutions will significantly expand the opportunity for manufacturing companies to turn improved information and workflow into better financial performance. No longer will companies have to settle for things the way they have been. Now managers can move their operations to optimum business performance by removing the traditional physical and logical barriers that have always stood in the way."
