Pipe and cable location system

Biwater Spectrascan, represented by Dynamic Instrumentation, promote the LO-K8 and AKTI-V 8 pipe and cable location system, which offers a simple and safe solution to finding and tracing buried services up to a depth of 3 m. The kit was designed and built after extensive consultation with engineers who use this type of equipment every day.
The cable locator operates on the principle of detecting electromagnetic emissions from metallic services and has been designed to meet the requirements of NJUG 8. The LO-K8 and AKTI-V 8 have both audible and visual indications, assuring detection even in noisy working conditions. The locator operates on only six batteries, for a comparable length of time to that of competitors' models who use eight batteries, reducing running costs by 20%.
Subject to quantities ordered, it is possible to supply the units in the customers' corporate colours with their company name and logo. Every unit comes complete with a training video outlining the correct use and benefits of the equipment.
Biwater Spectrascan has ISO 9002 approval and all equipment is supplied with a calibration certificate, if so required. The unit can also detect nonmetallic services, when used in conjunction with an accessory known as a Sondes, a device fitted on the front of drain-rods, which is then detectable with the LO-K8. The LO-K8 and AKTI-V 8 are robust in design protecting the internal electronics. In the event of catastrophic damage to the external enclosure, the internals can easily be refitted into a new enclosure. The bottom end of the enclosure is fitted with a blade, which has been designed to resist wear when being dragged along the ground. The main printed circuit board and aerials are mounted in the case from one side, reducing servicing costs.
